PANews reported on September 30 that, according to a press release from the Hong Kong SAR Government, approximately HK$20 billion equivalent of digital green bonds were successfully priced under the Sustainable Bond Programme, covering Hong Kong dollars, renminbi, US dollars and euros. In addition to retaining traditional settlement methods and the tokenized central bank money settlement option introduced last time, this issuance also introduced tokenized deposits through EnsembleTX in the primary issuance settlement process of the HKD bonds, making them among the world's first digital bonds to introduce tokenized HKD deposits, further improving the digital ecosystem and laying the foundation for exploring the programmability of digital currencies.
