PANews reported on October 2, citing Cointelegraph, that Arthur Hayes, Chief Investment Officer of Maelstrom, said US policymakers may print money to support AI and US Treasury financing, thereby pushing cryptocurrency prices higher. Hayes said AI companies need trillions of dollars to build data centers, and even as their service prices decline, they have few options other than printing money and making the situation less bad. Hayes also discussed the possibility that a major Asian country may shift from a "mild tightening" policy to large-scale monetary stimulus, which could revive demand for scarce assets. On Europe, he said he is watching financial stress in France, including credit default swaps related to BNP Paribas and French government bond spreads. Hayes said money printing will eventually happen at some point, but it is a disaster unfolding slowly beneath the surface.
